$39K debt sought by LVNV Funding
LVNV Funding has filed a lawsuit against Port Arthur local Elton White, alleging he refuses to pay a credit card balance of more than $39,000. credit-cards
The suit was filed Feb. 22 in Jefferson County District Court and alleges the defendant was advanced dollar amounts on a credit card account.
Court records show that on Oct. 28 the plaintiff sent a letter to the defendant demanding payment in full of the account. However, no further payments have been made.
“As of Jan. 29, 2013, there continues to be owed … an unpaid balance of $33,269.50 and accrued interest of $5,840.85,” the suit states, adding that the defendant breached his contract.
The total amount owed is $39,110.35.
LVNV Funding claims that it is entitled to recover the account balance and all court costs, including attorney’s fees.
Carrollton attorney Michael Scott represents the company.
Judge Bob Wortham, 58th District Court, is assigned to the case.
