Man sued over unpaid medical bill
A Colorado company has filed suit against the man that it claims owes it more than $1,000 in medical bills he incurred following a collision.
Medical Lien Management, doing business as Bridgewell, claims it treated defendant Nicholas Crosson after he was injured in an accident on July 8, 2009. Crosson incurred $1,687 worth of costs at Medical Lien Management, according to the complaint filed July 30 in Jefferson County District Court.
Medical Lien Management agreed to wait until after Crosson secured money from a lawsuit he planned to file against the driver before it pursued him for payment, the suit states. However, Crosson never filed a complaint and instead settled with the driver's insurance company in 2011, the complaint says.
Medical Lien Management claims it waited for the money it was owed for the treatment provided to Crosson, but was never paid, even after the insurance settlement.
It alleges breach of contract and unjust enrichment against Crosson.
In its complaint, Medical Lien Management is seeking compensatory damages, plus attorneys' fees, costs, pre- and post-judgment interest, foreclosure on Crosson's lien and other relief the court deems just.
It will be represented by Robert Miklos, Ryan A. Starnes and Mitchell S. Milby of Dallas.
The case has been assigned to Judge Gary Sanderson, 60th District Court.
