AmEx seeks $5K from Adams
Seeking to collect from a past due credit card account, American Express Centurion Bank has filed suit against Beaumont attorney Gilbert T. Adams Jr.
The suit was filed July 16 in Jefferson County District Court.
According to the lawsuit, the parties entered into a card member agreement, wherin American Express agreed to make case advances to Adams.
“Defendant has failed to repay all of the advances made under the agreement,” the suit states. “The current balance due … totals $5,001.91. Plaintiff has made demand for payment … but defendant … refused to pay the balance.”
American Express is suing for actual damages, interest and court costs.
Houston attorney Donald DeGrasse of DeGrasse & Rolnick represents the lender.
Judge Donald Floyd, 172nd District Court, is assigned to the case.
